Manchester City’s match at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening was undoubtedly the biggest fixture in the Premier League weekend and it didn’t disappoint the neutral.Neither side will be particularly happy with a point given how far Chelsea are ahead in the league table, but the pulsating 2-2 draw will sit better with Spurs given the way the game played out.Guardiola’s side let a two goal lead slip. Never ideal, especially at home, and they’ll be scratching their heads about how they managed to not pick up three points.Leroy Sane and Kevin De Bruyne capitalised on rare but horrendous mistakes by Hugo Lloris to help City race to a 2-0 lead. However, Dele Alli struck right after the second and a spirited fight back eventually saw Heung-Min Son net an equaliser. One player who couldn’t find the net for City was Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero and that’s become a trend under Guardiola, against the top seven sides in the Premier League at least. This stat from Squawka shows the attacker hasn’t scored against any of the top seven sides this season so far. Zero goals in six games.
It seems when Man City need Aguero most, he isn’t quite reaching the heights he is capable of. If that record doesn’t improve soon then it could be a real struggle for City to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season, never mind win the title.
